Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a powerful therapeutic approach designed to help individuals process and heal from trauma and distressing life experiences. Through structured sessions, EMDR facilitates the reprocessing of traumatic memories, enabling clients to reduce their emotional charge and develop healthier coping mechanisms. By utilizing bilateral stimulation—often through guided eye movements—clients can access and reframe memories, allowing for a profound transformation in how they perceive and relate to their past. EMDR promotes resilience, self-awareness, and emotional well-being, making the seemingly impossible journey toward healing achievable. If you’d like to schedule a free consultation to discuss EMDR please book on the book-now tab with Nicole Mosey, LMHC.
EMDR sessions differ from talk therapy as it addresses the mind and body connection. There are 8 phases in EMDR treatment including history taking, treatment planning, preparation, assessment, desensitization, installation, body scan, closure and reevaluation. Counseling modalities and treatment such as DBT and CBT are often used in these phases of treatment. The processing sessions of memories to help you get un-stuck from negative thinking patterns can often produce a much change as up to seven (7) talk therapy sessions. In addition to EMDR therapy we are also offering Intensives which allows for several hours of work to be done at a time. We are offering 4 hour intensives at this time. If you are interested in this option please book the virtual free consultation to discuss with Nicole Mosey, LMHC.
