Core Mental Health Counseling (MHC) was founded 10 years ago with a clear mission: to provide trauma-informed care to individuals in Western New York, with a focus on accessibility and ensuring that clients have the freedom to work with a counselor who truly supports them. The practice was born out of a deeply personal experience when the owner, a dedicated counselor, was working with a client for over five years at a previous agency. Unfortunately, due to an insurance change, the client was no longer able to be covered under that agency, leaving her without the support she needed.
This moment was a turning point, one that inspired the decision to create a counseling practice where clients could access care regardless of insurance limitations or other barriers. With a belief that everyone has the right to work with a counselor who understands their unique needs and experiences, Core MHC was created as a woman-owned business dedicated to providing compassionate, trauma-informed care.
Over the years, Core MHC has grown into a trusted practice in the community, known for its trauma-specialized approach. The practice has expanded to offer a range of services to help clients heal from the effects of trauma, supporting their mental health and personal growth. The focus has always remained on building strong, trusting relationships between clients and counselors, and ensuring that every person who walks through the door feels supported and heard.
Today, Core MHC stands as a testament to the founder's passion for making counseling services accessible and personalized. It has become a resource for those seeking specialized, trauma-focused care, all while remaining grounded in the mission of accessibility, empathy, and empowerment. The practice's success is a direct result of the founder's unwavering belief in the power of healing and the importance of supporting others on their journey toward mental well-being.
